We require a maintenance technician who performs inspections and resolutions for facilities. The maintenance technician will carry out tasks assigned to them that focus on upkeep and repairs.
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing routine and emergency repairs to equipment, fixtures, fittings and building systems. Their duties include responding to reports of broken or faulty items, conducting routine inspections of buildings and liaising with external specialists and contractors.
Responsibilities
·responding to repair requests in the residential buildings including plumbing issues, electrical faults and infrastructure issues such as jammed doors or landscaping work for gardens.
·Completing small repairs such as fixing locks, leaky taps and broken windows
·Checking and maintaining safety equipment such as fire alarms, fire doors, fire extinguishers and carbon monoxide detectors
·Performing grounds maintenance such as mowing lawns, trimming bushes and replacing exterior light bulbs
· Inspecting and troubleshooting problems and issues reported by service users or colleagues
· Inspecting vehicles, tools and equipment upkeep required to perform the role effectively
· Following and completing a maintenance work schedule to ensure that all routine tasks are completed
· Carrying out a variety of planned and reactive building maintenance tasks with a professional work ethic and attitude to high standards or workmanship, which will be varied in nature and will include general building, joinery, woodwork, carpentry, ironmongery, decorating and external work.
· Working on future developments where required.
· Undertaking general facilities support tasks, including furniture building and removals, grounds and site clearance, and keeping areas clean and tidy.
· Working individually or as part of a team to complete repairs in a timely manner and in accordance with KPI/SLA timescale.
· Assisting contractors an site.
· Adhere to all BCS policies and procedures, plus identify hazards and undertake risk assessments as required.
· Carry out other duties as required or delegated by maintenance and facilities manager.
· Will be required travel and work at multiple sites within the company.

Qualifications
Qualification relating to a maintenance role desirable.
Experience
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance role.
· Broad experience of completing and multi-skilled maintenance tasks.
Essential knowledge, skills and abilities
· Good standards of literacy and numeracy.
· Effective communication skills with the ability to provide clear verbal and written information relative to maintenance activities.
· Good times management with proven ability to meet deadlines and priorities work as necessary to deal with multiple and competing demands on a regular basis.
· Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with staff at all levels.
· Strong collaborative approach and team ethic.
Other essential requirements
· Full UK Drivers Licence
· Pre-employment disclosure and barring service (DBS) background check.
