Christchurch Harbour Hotel is a 67 bedroom hotel and spa with busy restaurants and part of the Harbour Hotel Group. Our dedicated team ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. We are now seeking a reliable Maintenance Person to join our team and contribute to the smooth operation of our facilities.

Job Description:We are looking for a proactive Maintenance Person for our hotel to join our team. To undertake general maintenance and repair tasks at our hotel. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic upkeep of our premises. The ideal candidate will have a background in maintenance or a willingness to learn new areas of maintenance within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs on the premises, including carpentry, painting, and general upkeep.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues, ensuring all equipment and facilities are in good working order.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents, prioritizing tasks to ensure minimal disruption.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any significant issues to the management team.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance when necessary.
  • Assist in emergency situations, such as power outages or equipment failures, to ensure the safety and comfort of residents and staff.
  • Participate in on-call duties as required

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with residents, staff, and external contractors.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks.
  • Valid driving license and access to own vehicle is desirable.
