Qualifications

  • Electrical experience and fault finding skills are advantageous.

Job Description:

This is a “Working” Team Leader role on a 24/7 shift pattern.

The role occupant must be Controls & Instruments trained with Electrical knowledge.

Job Purpose:

The core activities of the role will be to perform Planned and Reactive work in a technically correct and safe manner. To install, repair, inspect and overhaul plant and machinery to ensure continuous production. Prime functions include Planned Preventative Maintenance, Fault Diagnosis, Calibration and Repair of Electrical and Controls Equipment. The role also involves deployment of Asset Care, working on PM projects, and modification, installation and commissioning of plant and equipment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Driving the performance of the shift team to maximise utilisation across reactive and planned work.
  • Working with Maintenance Coordinators to meet daily work expectations and support Mill activities.
  • Ensuring team members perform to standards for HSE, Quality, and Security.
  • Resolving operational, technical, and resource issues within the team or through support channels.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HNC, ONC or BTEC National Cert in Instrumentation Controls Engineering.
  • Ideally, an HNC, ONC or BTEC National Cert in Electrical Engineering.
  • Recognised apprenticeship in Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Electrical experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in fault finding and diagnostics on process plant and machinery.
  • Technical competence within Engineering training for effective issue resolution.
  • Experience in large-scale manufacturing/processing environments.
  • Understanding of Quality, HSE, Environmental, Engineering, and Security regulations.
  • Effective resource organisation skills.
  • Leadership, coaching, and motivating abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with field instrumentation through PLC/DCS systems.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic, calibration, and testing equipment.
  • Understanding of quality, cost, delivery, and business requirements.
  • Ability to perform precise, intricate tasks and physically demanding jobs under varying conditions.
