Maintenance Surveyor - Kent (Housing Association)

£29.50 PAYE / £37.00 Umbrella (Inside IR35) • 37 hours per week • Ongoing contract

A Housing Association in Kent is seeking an experienced Maintenance Surveyor to join their regional team. You will be responsible for managing the delivery of responsive repairs, void works, and cyclical maintenance programmes, ensuring value for money and compliance with all statutory and safety regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver an effective, customer-focused maintenance service across a housing portfolio.
  • Carry out pre- and post-inspections, diagnostic surveys, and prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Oversee contractor performance to ensure quality, timeliness, and adherence to budgets.
  • Manage local budgets of around £2m, ensuring accurate spend and value for money.
  • Support disrepair, insurance, and complex works cases, providing professional advice and reports.
  • Conduct major void inspections, ensuring timely turnaround and compliance with lettable standards.
  • Promote health, safety, and compliance standards in all maintenance operations.
  • Work collaboratively with residents, contractors, and internal teams to achieve excellent customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Surveying, Property and Maintenance (Level 3) or equivalent.
  • Professional membership (RICS/CIOB) desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of building pathology, construction standards, and housing legislation.
  • Proven experience within social housing repairs and maintenance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
