A local government authority in the UK seeks a Maintenance Surveyor for a fixed term position. The successful candidate will inspect homes, order necessary repair works, and ensure they meet proper standards. Relevant qualifications in a trade discipline and strong communication skills are required. This position offers flexibility with the option of hybrid working.

Working in the Asset Management team of Housing Services, the main purpose of this role is to inspect homes and land and order repair and void works using a designated schedule of rates or seeking appropriate quotations and agreeing variations to orders with the Council’s contractors.
Other responsibilities will include:
Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential as you liaise with customers, clients and contractors to ensure work is undertaken and completed satisfactorily and on a timely basis whilst ensuring that the Council, its tenants and leaseholders are receiving value for money and a customer focused service.
Candidates must have a relevant qualification in a trade related discipline such as a HNC Building Studies, NVQ L2 or C&G, or significant experience in a relevant building trade.
Knowledge of housing repair standards and legislation e.g. Right to Repair, Decent Homes Standard/HHSRS and experience of using a Schedule of Rates and software based systems to raise or manage works orders would be hugely beneficial.
The intention is for the postholder to work predominately from home however, it is a requirement to attend our offices or sites within Warwick District as required. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate. However, office and hybrid working are also available.
