About our client

Our client is a forward-thinking local authority based in North West London, providing and maintaining approximately 600 homes.

Key responsibilities

As a Repairs and Maintenance Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing responsive repairs across the council's housing stock. You will carry out site inspections, diagnose faults, and ensure works are completed on time, to specification, and in line with regulatory standards.

Key Duties:

  • Conduct inspections and diagnose building defects in occupied and void properties.
  • Raise, specify, and manage repairs and maintenance work orders.
  • Liaise closely with residents, contractors, and internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Monitor contractor performance and carry out post-inspection checks.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation and building regulations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Background in building surveying, housing repairs, or maintenance, preferably within the social housing sector.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills relating to domestic property defects.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of housing legislation, HHSRS, and building regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant qualification in surveying or construction (e.g., HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
