Salary: £42,000 – £47,000 per yearLocation: Exeter and Plymouth (covering the Devon area)Contract: Full-time, permanentTravel: Car and full UK driving licence requiredAbout the RoleAn established housing and property management organisation is seeking a Maintenance Surveyor to join its Property Services Team, working from the Exeter Hub and covering the Devon locality. The role involves investigating, diagnosing, and resolving day-to-day maintenance issues, as well as providing technical support to in-house trades teams and external contractors.Key Responsibilities * Carry out inspections before, during, and after repair works * Prepare detailed specifications, including scope of works, quantities, budgets, and timelines * Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard * Maintain accurate data within property management systems * Build strong local knowledge of customer needs, assets, and investment priorities * Monitor and support contractors to deliver quality outcomes * Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislationCandidate Requirements * Knowledge of technical, statutory, and regulatory requirements for maintenance services * Experience preparing and interpreting specifications and schedules of work * Strong planning, tracking, and forecasting skills * Commercial awareness with a customer-focused approach * Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office (Intermediate Excel) * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel * Ability to pass a basic DBS checkBenefits * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing to 30 with service) * 3 wellbeing days and 2 paid volunteering days each year * Pension scheme with up to 12% employer match and 4x salary life cover * Flexible working arrangements * Optional private medical, dental, and critical illness cover * Discounted travel insurance
