Opportunity: Maintenance Surveyor

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Maintenance Surveyor to join our Property Services Team in our Exeter Hub, covering the Devon Locality.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Report to the Operations Manager, responsible for investigating, identifying, diagnosing, and solving day-to-day maintenance issues raised internally or by customers.
  • Own the day-to-day technical support for your locality, enabling in-house trades teams and external contractors to carry out required works on the first visit.
  • Conduct inspections before, during, and after repairs.
  • Provide specifications, including scope of works, quantities, budgets, and timescales to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Ensure works are completed safely, to standard, efficiently, and with high customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate data within property management systems.
  • Develop knowledge of customer, asset, and investment needs in your locality.
  • Engage in continuous personal and professional development to stay updated on technical and legislative requirements.
  • Prepare and interpret specifications and schedules of work, using bespoke or national standards.
  • Plan, track, and forecast safe delivery of services, works, and expenditure within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Operate with commercial acumen.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Proficiently use IT systems, including the Microsoft Office suite with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Willingness to travel, with access to a car and a full UK driving licence. The role is subject to a basic DBS disclosure.
