Maintenance Surveyor

Job Description

Our client, one of the largest Housing Associations in the South West is looking for a Devon/Cornwall based Surveyor who would be available for a three-to-six-month contract.

The hourly rate for this role is £35.00 per hour via an Umbrella Company, to achieve this rate a proven track record of providing expertise on cyclical/planned maintenance programmes is required.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing budgets, contract administration, cyclical maintenance programmes and liaising with neighborhood officers/tenant liaison officers to provide updates on the timescale of works.

The duties for the role can be found below:

• Undertaking pre and post inspections on void properties, ensuring that the properties adhere to the organisation’s lettable standards.
• Acting as the expertise point on works including Planned Maintenance, Minor Works, Refurbishment Works, and Health and Safety (Fire).
• Producing detailed reports post-survey, including options for remedial works and costs to provide a business case.
• Maintaining and updating knowledge of current building regulations, ensuring to inform colleagues of changes that could affect the day-to-day running of the Planned Maintenance Programme.
• Having a strong understanding of budgets, acting as the lead on contract discussions and ensuring all works are completed within pre-agreed budgets.

Requirements:

• Social Housing contract management experience.
• Experience of overseeing budgets circa £500k.
• Experience monitoring KPIs to ensure contract health.

Working hours:

• 40 hours per week.
• Monday – Friday, flexible working hours.
