OVERVIEW
Work with the Engineering Manager to optimise plant performance and maintenance activities by providing effective management for a team of Maintenance Technicians and contractors within our Refinery engineering team.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ policies and procedures by the team and contractors.
- Manage Maintenance Technicians, ensuring safety, quality, and throughput standards are met.
- Collaborate with Process Team Managers and senior engineers to prioritize activities for plant operation and maintenance.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily/weekly workloads with the Engineering Manager, including preventive, planned, and reactive maintenance.
- Oversee all planned and reactive E/I and mechanical maintenance activities, optimizing resources and contractors for high-quality repairs.
- Maintain regular communication with teams through meetings and briefings.
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement and reliability projects.
- Provide cost estimates and manage budgets for improvement projects.
- Participate in RCM and RCA studies to optimize maintenance regimes.
- Administer SAP maintenance system for budgeting, trend analysis, and reliability assessments.
- Implement and review maintenance procedures, standards, risk assessments, and SHEQ systems.
ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES
- Relevant maintenance experience in a process environment.
- Multi-skilled in various engineering trades.
- Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.
- Leadership and performance management of small teams.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental procedures.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Preferably HNC/NVQ 4 in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to plan and coordinate activities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with a desire for personal development.
