Job description

SHIFT: Monday to Friday Days

OVERVIEW

Work with the Engineering Manager to optimise plant performance and maintenance activities by managing a team of Maintenance Technicians and contract staff within our Refinery engineering team.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with all SHEQ policies and procedures by the team and contractors
  • Manage Maintenance Technicians, ensuring safety, quality, and throughput targets are met
  • Coordinate with Process Team Managers and senior engineers for prioritising activities
  • Plan, schedule, and agree on workloads with the Engineering Manager, including preventative, planned, and reactive maintenance
  • Oversee all maintenance activities, optimise resources, and ensure high-quality repairs
  • Communicate regularly with the team through meetings and briefings
  • Initiate and deliver continuous improvement projects to enhance plant reliability
  • Provide cost estimates and manage budgets for improvement projects
  • Participate in RCM and RCA studies to optimise maintenance regimes
  • Administer SAP maintenance system for budgeting and analysis
  • Implement maintenance procedures, standards, risk assessments, and SHEQ systems

ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Relevant maintenance experience in a process environment
  • Multi-skilled in various engineering trades
  • Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance techniques
  • Leadership and performance management of small teams
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental procedures

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • HNC/NVQ 4 in engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to plan and coordinate activities effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a desire for continuous development
