Job description

Our client is a leading heavy industry manufacturer, and due to their continued success, Staffbase has been appointed to recruit for the position of Maintenance Supervisor.

The successful applicant will lead a small team of maintenance engineers at our client's busy manufacturing plant near Rugeley.

The Role:

The Maintenance Supervisor will provide 'hands-on' maintenance supervision for a small team of maintenance engineers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Supervising a team of engineers to ensure the effective delivery of planned and reactive maintenance in a busy heavy industry plant.
  2. Providing hands-on training and supervision of engineers.
  3. Updating maintenance schedules / PPM and producing accurate hand-over sheets for incoming maintenance teams.
  4. Working on motors, inverters, contactors, sensors, relays, switchgear, PLC fault finding and repair (Siemens).
  5. Mechanical maintenance and repair of machinery including furnaces, foundry plant, conveyors, overhead cranes, heat treatment, cooling plant, and more.
  6. Managing hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, pumps, motors.
  7. Managing contractors, ordering spare/replacement parts.
  8. Managing work schedules, rotas, HSE talks, motivating staff.
  9. Handling project work.
Candidates:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, multi-skilled maintenance engineer with supervisory experience.

Previous work experience in heavy industry manufacturing (e.g., steel, aggregates, mining) is preferred, along with at least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience.

Excellent 3-phase electrical installation, fault finding, and repair skills are highly desirable.

Hours of Work:

12-hour days, Monday to Thursday.

12-hour nights, Tuesday to Friday.

Rotating every month.
