Maintenance Supervisor | Chesterfield | £40,000 - £45,000 | Days Based

W Talent are proud to be exclusively partnering with a fast-paced manufacturing business based in Chesterfield who are looking to hire a new Maintenance Supervisor to join the leadership team. This is a pivotal and exciting new position within the business, offering quick progression into Maintenance and Engineering Management. Initially, you will be responsible for managing a team of four Maintenance Engineers, with the role growing and developing as the business continues to expand.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer, Team Leader or Supervisor looking to take the next step in their career, joining a business where you can make a real impact on equipment reliability, team performance and continuous improvement. The Role - Maintenance Supervisor

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the maintenance function, ensuring machinery, equipment and production facilities remain operational within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will oversee a small team of engineers while remaining hands‑on when required, supporting planned and reactive maintenance activities and driving improvements across the site.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, supporting and developing a team of Maintenance Engineers.
• Planning and coordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Managing reactive maintenance issues to minimise production downtime.
• Supporting fault finding across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Working closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and process optimisation.
• Ensuring health & safety standards and engineering procedures are maintained.
• Supporting engineering projects, installations and machinery upgrades.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience within a Maintenance Manager, Supervisor or Engineering Team Leader position.
• A strong background within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working within industries such as FMCG, Food, Beverage, Plastics, Heavy Engineering, Automotive or similar.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience managing or mentoring engineers.
• Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance systems.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

The role offers a competitive salary of £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience, working Monday to Friday on a days-based position located in Chesterfield.
