Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Maintenance Supervisor to join the existing Estates Team.

The purpose of the role is to have responsibility for the directly employed labour team and to support the Head of Estates in ensuring the Trust's building, electrical, and mechanical equipment are maintained to statutory and mandatory standards. The role involves delivering planned, reactive, emergency maintenance, and minor works within agreed timescales to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Main duties of the job
  • Manage and organise the effective provision of day-to-day maintenance, planned preventive maintenance, and reactive maintenance to ensure all land, buildings, plant, and non-medical equipment are maintained in a safe, economical, and efficient condition.
  • Support the directly employed labour with HR, Occupational Health, wellbeing, and welfare. This includes training and instructing craftsmen, apprentices, and other personnel attached to the department.
  • Liaise with other disciplines.
  • Work with the Head of Estates and Operational Estates Lead to develop new policies and procedures.
  • Authorize payments to contractors via the Trust's payment system (Agresso).
  • Use the Trust's CAFM system for records management, placing purchase orders via Agresso, and monitoring specific work requests.
  • Manage stock control.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade C qualification or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Relevant trade apprenticeship and trades qualification.

  • Latest edition IEE certification.
Experience
  • Practical, theoretical, and statutory knowledge relevant to the trade.
