WHAT TO EXPECT:

JLR has an amazing opportunity for an individual to lead and support the Manufacturing Excellence teams in the development and implementation of the company-wide Maintenance Systems within JLR.

The role includes all aspects of Maintenance including, but not limited to, all eight elements of a Total Productive Maintenance system implementation in addition to driving productivity improvements by creating the proactive standards within tool (Wrench) time to improve the overall maintenance utilisation.

Please note that this role requires travel in the UK and internationally, therefore flexibility is needed.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Train the Total Productive Maintenance standards and methods within the Manufacturing system to calibrate the plants and identify gaps and opportunities to improve, whilst supporting the overall Global Manufacturing System applications.
  • Driving improvements with the Global Maintenance HPU workshops, enhancing visibility of maintenance effectiveness through the Pro-active / Reactive ratio and overall maintenance utilisation improvements to an agreed glidepath.
  • Autonomous Maintenance – developing and implementing autonomous maintenance application, providing the clarity in training plans and standard measurables that engage the production associates, to reduce reactive maintenance requirements.
  • Preventative / Predictive Maintenance – implement a visual planning system with manufacturing to deliver the appropriate preventative or predictive maintenance planning, increase visuals of Preventative Maintenance to drive Dynamic PM reviews and regularly adjust based on effectiveness.
  • Emergency Maintenance improvement strategies, which include improvement in application of escalation procedures, Major breakdown standard reporting, Problem Solving improvements and overall control of Constraints Management standards.
  • Future maintenance - support the Strategic Maintenance Managers' vision to develop and align with the overall ME strategy and include future forecasts to optimise the Global standards and be effective at achieving HPU glidepath targets, whilst reducing MTTR and increasing MTBF/MCBF at launch.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Relevant experience of maintaining and installing Production automation equipment.
  • Knowledge of World Class Maintenance strategies and systems that drive ownership and engagement to the operational teams.
  • Experience of managing multi-skilled teams in multi-shift operations in both a Manufacturing/Maintenance as well as contractors/contract labour in a construction environment.
  • Proven experience of vehicle builds and delivery processes and procedures.
  • Experience of working in partnership with a Trade Union.
  • A good communicator who can communicate complex ideas.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Legislative and Industry Standards in Automotive.
