Job description

Assist in managing the day-to-day workload of the maintenance team to ensure effective service delivery and achievement of departmental targets. This includes planning and resourcing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and maintenance shutdowns. Foster a culture of continuous improvement among skilled technicians, providing leadership and line management to oversee workloads, support team members, monitor issues, and ensure targets, KPIs, and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Robot and PLC programming
  • Maintain and repair Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic systems and equipment
  • Manage maintenance projects and ensure safety standards are upheld
  • Perform diagnostic and repair work to maximize equipment availability
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Record all maintenance work accurately in paper and electronic systems
  • Analyze issues to identify root causes and develop solutions
  • Manage tools, equipment, and spares inventory
  • Maintain high standards of tidiness and organization following 5S principles
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Prepare reports and present progress at meetings
  • Perform quality control reviews and apply technical skills to expedite issues
  • Lead benchmarking studies and plan long-term projects within budget
  • Manage complex activities and develop innovative solutions
  • Undertake continuous training and development
  • Perform root cause analysis and problem resolution
  • Deploy technical skills and resources effectively to deliver projects
  • Ensure KPIs are met through planning, management, and reporting
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks

People Management:

  • Collaborate with the team and other departments to develop maintenance strategies
  • Liaise with Production and Quality to ensure high build quality
  • Lead and motivate maintenance technicians/engineers
  • Share ideas for continuous improvement and support process enhancements
  • Coordinate daily work schedules and delegate tasks
  • Monitor team performance, attendance, and discipline
  • Identify development needs and foster a flexible, responsive team
  • Provide training and coaching to team members and others
  • Promote high standards through personal example and team guidance
  • Maintain effective communication with other departments, suppliers, and contractors

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, QC tools, and safety legislation (ISO14001)
