Job summary

Greencore Wisbech is seeking a Maintenance Engineer on Nights (4 on 4 off) to perform fault finding, planned maintenance and site repairs to maximise productivity. The role requires an accredited apprenticeship or Level 3 engineering qualification and the ability to prioritise daily work and escalate complex parts or process changes to the Shift Engineering Manager.

You will maintain safety standards, communicate with operations, log stock movements, and ensure all documentation is audit-ready

Qualifications

• Completed accredited apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 engineering qualification.
• Experience diagnosing maintenance issues.
• Ability to prioritise daily schedule and activities.
• Experience requesting parts via stores.
• Escalation to Shift Engineering Manager for significant process changes.

Responsibilities

• Perform fault finding and planned/preventative maintenance on plant and equipment to maximise reliability.
• Maintain ongoing communication with operations about engineering activities and schedules.
• Respond to internal customer needs to maximise up-time.
• Comply with food safety standards and controls.
• Record stock movement from Engineering stores for stock control and accountability.
• Complete necessary documentation and ensure audit readiness.
• Identify opportunities to improve health, safety and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Be Doing

AsMaintenance EngineeronNights 4 on 4 off, you will carry out the day to day maintenance tasks and site repairs to assist operations in achieving maximum productivity.

• Complete fault finding, planned and preventative maintenance on plant and equipment to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
• Carry out fault finding, problem solving and establish route cause fixes to address equipment issues.
• Maintain ongoing communications with the operations team ensuring they are fully aware of all relevant engineering activities and schedules.
• Respond to internal customer needs to maximise production up time according to given priorities.
• Comply with food safety standards and controls to ensure all work is carried out correctly and safely.
• Record any stock removed from the Engineering stores to ensure accurate stock control.
• Complete all necessary documentation ensuring that it is kept accurate and is audit ready .
• Identify and recommend opportunities for improvements to promote Health and Safety and/or operational efficiency and effectiveness.

What We’re Looking For

• People who have experience operating as an engineer, following a completed accredited apprenticeship or equivalent experience with appropriate Level 3 qualification
• Complete diagnosis of job maintenance.
• Prioritise own daily schedule and order of activities.
• Requesting Engineering parts via stores/Engineering Shift Manager.
• Refer to Engineering Shift Manager for specific work requests for significant process changes i.e. not like for like replacement to parts.
• Escalation to Shift Engineering Manager for performance driven issues as per local operating procedure.
