The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Maintenance Scheduler at TeesRep Biomass Plant in Middlesbrough.

Working as part of the maintenance planning and scheduling team, this role will be responsible for all scheduling activities relating to the maintenance function, for both planned and reactive maintenance tasks.

The Maintenance Scheduler will work closely with a multi-discipline planning team, taking accountability for all maintenance tasks that are classified as scheduled in the CMMS. Utilizing best available scheduling methods, whilst identifying other opportunities to implement methods of best practice is key.

Engineering & Maintenance | Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time | Location: Middlesbrough | Workplace type: Onsite | Reporting To: Maintenance Manager

Key Responsibilities
  1. Build a strong working relationship with the team of maintenance planners, technicians, and engineers.
  2. Be accountable for the efficient creation and delivery of all maintenance team schedules.
  3. Ensure effective utilization of all available maintenance resources.
  4. Create, issue, and review weekly plan attainment reports every week.
  5. Conduct weekly schedule review meetings.
  6. Prepare relevant scheduling information for the monthly maintenance dashboard.
  7. Chair planning meetings with departments such as Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance.
  8. Deputize for the Maintenance Manager as required.
  9. Distribute detailed maintenance schedules to the wider site team.
  10. Seek opportunities for cost savings.
  11. Implement “best practice” scheduling methods.
  12. Perform post-mortem reviews of work performed.
  13. Follow up on discrepancies between actuals and estimates and correct if needed.
  14. Manage discipline planners daily.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  1. ONC or equivalent in a relevant trade discipline.
  2. Technical background in a similar industry.
  3. Relevant planning skills (e.g., P6 Project).
  4. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  5. Strong SHE awareness.
  6. Contractor management skills.
  7. Experience with Maximo, Microsoft Project, and similar IT programs.
  8. High standards in SHE, trade skills, and commercial areas.
  9. Ability to work under strict deadlines.
  10. Effective problem-solving skills.
  11. Excellent report writing skills.
