Job description

The Property Maintenance Team:

The Property Maintenance team ensures the inspiring retail environments we create are well maintained and safe, maximising our customers shopping experience.

The Role:

The Property Maintenance team are recruiting for a Store Refurbishment manager to join their busy and expanding team of 25. The position offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Property Maintenance team delivering a professional, efficient and cost-effective maintenance for all of our UK stores. The role will be field-based, and the location is flexible.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Coordination and management of multiple store refurbishment projects.
  • Working with key stakeholders to establish a programme of stores suitable for a refit.
  • Working with the Retail Projects, Property Projects, Quantity Surveying and Design team to agree a scope of works for each store involved.
  • Producing a schedule of work for competitive tender.
  • Producing cost management reports and obtaining financial approval.
  • Scheduling and executing the works: to create a schedule for the refurbishments and ensure that the works are completed efficiently and within budget. This will include managing the contractors, ensuring that the works are completed to a high standard, and that all health and safety requirements are met.
  • Quality control: ensuring that the refurbishments are completed to a high standard and that the company's brand is represented consistently.
  • Budget management: ensuring that the refurbishments are completed within budget and that the costs are recorded accurately.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:

  • Qualified to HND level in Building Surveying or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience of construction safety legislation.
  • Working in a fast paced retail property maintenance environment.
  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the need to ensure and demonstrate value for money.
  • Practical knowledge of building pathology and remedies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
