This is an exciting new role at Thames Water which involves overseeing the technical aspects of project delivery, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensuring that technical solutions align with and meet business expectations.

What you’ll be doing as aMaintenance Project Engineer

The Maintenance Project Delivery Engineer plays a key role in ensuring that maintenance improvement projects are delivered on time and to quality, within scope and budget.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of technical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that they meet the technical, time, and budget requirements.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring best practices and efficient use of resources.
  • Report regularly on project status, risks, and any changes to the technical scope, timelines or cost.
  • Analyse post-delivery feedback and performance data to identify areas for improvement in the delivery process.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies, methodologies, and tools that improve efficiency and quality in project delivery.

Base Location: Hybrid - Clearwater Court - RG1 8DB, but can be flexible depending on the location of the successful candidate.

Basic Hours: 36 hours - Monday to Friday.

Please note this role includes some travel to Thames Water sites to meet with stakeholders where required.

What you should bring to the role

  • Proven experience delivering technical-related projects in an engineering environment.
  • Hands-on experience managing project resources (internal & external), ensuring the successful delivery of technical projects.
  • Previous experience working with both internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations, and resolving issues.
  • Project Management or technical certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or equivalent relevant experience
  • Due to the nature of the role, a full and clean UK driving licence is required.
  • Experience with maintenance strategy, CMMS systems and industrial maintenance programmes is desirable
