Role Overview

The maintenance planner and scheduler will ensure efficient utilization of engineering resources (people, tools, equipment), adherence to planned maintenance schedules, and appropriate prioritization of maintenance activities (breakdown, corrective, service requests). They will aim to improve maintenance planning and scheduling processes, supporting safety, asset availability, and performance goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and allocate resources for maintenance and projects using WOs workflow
  • Review and convert service requests into work orders
  • Monitor progress and communicate updates
  • Participate in statutory and good practice activities (LOLER, PSSR, PAT testing)
  • Manage third-party service providers (raising POs, issuing PTWs)
Qualifications and Skills
  • NVQ level 3 Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a port/heavy industrial environment
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process systems
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Safety-oriented mindset
