Maintenance Planner

Job Description

JOB FUNCTION:

This position will work under the direction of the Director of Maintenance and Shift Lead in various planning activities focused on improving the overall operating efficiency of Fleet Maintenance. A key daily priority of the position includes the identification and provisioning of parts and supplies required to accomplish repair and maintenance tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Generate work orders for required services.
2. Research and develop parts lists necessary to accomplish repair & maintenance tasks.
3. Source equipment and parts.
4. Ensure complete and accurate charging of materials to assets and business units.
5. Coordinate the availability of parts for routine repairs & services at the point of service.
6. Manage and coordinate the return and timely processing of repairable and core parts.
7. Sustain stocking levels of safety and shop supplies, forms, and tags.
8. Complete work order closing and documentation.
9. Serve as Shop Hazard Communication Administrator.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interact with operations and production teams and provide support as needed.
• Perform other duties as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s degree or related field is preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, active listening skills, and the ability to interact effectively with others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Technical/trade school degree or formal training in maintenance and repair of diesel or gasoline engines, or repair and diagnostics of mechanical systems.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision in a demanding environment.
