First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic manufacturing business that is looking to recruit a Maintenance Planner on a permanent basis due to growth. The position is based at their Hull depot.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance planning and development of maintenance job plans, including skills required, number of technicians, estimated job duration, materials, special tools/equipment, and work instructions.
- Assist with preventative maintenance and reliability strategies.
- Review all new work for planning to ensure proactive work is prioritized.
- Maintain accurate CMMS record keeping (PM, PdM, CIL routes).
- Own statutory activity planning.
- Coordinate with stores/admin to ensure materials are available for work planning.
- Participate in equipment reliability strategies using Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Centred Maintenance, 5Why, and Management of Change to mitigate failure causes.
- Plan and schedule downtime to minimize plant production disruption.
- Follow strict H&S protocols for planning activities, identifying hazards, and implementing precautions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in navigating/updating CMMS systems (preferably Shire/Holistech).
- Experience in a similar role within an industrial environment.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder relationship building.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Experience in a Process/Chemical environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of condition-based monitoring techniques (vibration, oil analysis, infra-red, ultrasound, motor evaluations).
- Strong understanding of root cause and failure analysis.
- Background in manufacturing environment.
- Recognized engineering qualification required.
- Experience in report writing and data analysis.
