Job description

Overall Purpose of Role: (brief overview of key focus of position)

Working in the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO), coordinating and scheduling major maintenance tasks to ensure fleet availability. Sharing and communicating plans with stakeholders, and gathering data to feedback into future planning.

Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure maximum availability of serviceable aircraft for contracted flight operations by organizing maintenance schedules.
  2. Provide fleet status updates for CAMO, 145, and Flight Operations management, including hours, location, serviceability, deferred defects, and upcoming major maintenance.
  3. Develop a 24-month maintenance plan indicating scheduled maintenance activities and locations.
  4. Collaborate with Flight Operations and Commercial teams to incorporate forecasted flying activity and identify potential aircraft downtime.
  5. Coordinate with Part 145 Maintenance Planner and Base Maintenance Manager to ensure plan feasibility.
  6. Include aircraft import/export, lease return, and modification programs in the plan as needed.
  7. Maintain a buffer in the plan to accommodate emergent or unscheduled work, preventing disruptions.
  8. Develop scope of work for scheduled maintenance, balancing capacity and operational needs, including compliance with directives and modifications.
  9. Create a tracking system for scheduled maintenance tasks requiring advance planning.
  10. Assist management in making informed decisions on aircraft movements based on the plan.
  11. Plan the implementation of modifications, directives, and bulletins efficiently and promptly.
  12. Ensure availability of parts, tools, and data in collaboration with the Part 145 Maintenance Planner.
  13. Monitor Part 145 performance to inform future planning and strategy.
  14. Compare aircraft turnaround times against plans, considering factors like supply chain issues and defects.

Person Specification:

  1. Qualifications: Good standard of education, including Maths and English.
  2. Experience: Preferably prior maintenance planning experience in aviation or extensive aircraft maintenance/airworthiness management experience with strong administrative skills.
  3. Skills: Excellent communication, organization, negotiation, and adaptability skills; strong IT skills, especially in Excel and Word; familiarity with maintenance planning software like SAP or RAMCO; awareness of aviation regulations; team player with professionalism; understanding of aircraft maintenance programs; commitment to safety and integrity.
