Overview

Job Opportunity: Maintenance Person - Caretaker

Location: Rochester

Salary: 15.00 per hour

Contract Type: Temporary

Are you a hands-on, reliable individual with a passion for keeping spaces safe, clean, and well-maintained? We're looking for a proactive Maintenance Person - Caretaker to join our team and take pride in ensuring our premises are in top condition.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repairs (e.g. plumbing, carpentry, painting)
• Perform routine inspections and identify areas needing attention
• Maintain outdoor areas including basic gardening and litter removal
• Ensure health & safety standards are met across the site
• Support with setting up rooms and moving furniture/equipment as needed
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers when necessary

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a maintenance or caretaker role (preferred)
• Basic knowledge of building systems and repair techniques
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• A positive attitude and commitment to high standards
• DBS check may be required depending on the setting
