Job summary

NHS Property Services, Boldon Estates team, is seeking a carpenter/joiner to deliver fire compartmentation remedial works and general fabric repairs across the North East. A full UK driving licence and NVQ Level 2 in carpentry and joinery (or equivalent) are required.

The role involves travel between sites in a company van, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to safety and compliance standards, and maintaining detailed records of works performed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a fabric or property maintenance environment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fire compartmentation remedial works, following training and guidance.
• Carry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance across the estate.
• Complete carpentry, joinery and general fabric repairs to a high standard.
• Ensure works are safe and meet statutory and company requirements.
• Keep accurate work records and related documentation.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and customers.
• Support the wider Building Estates team in keeping sites safe and compliant.
• Travel between sites across the North East as required.

This six-month fixed-term post sits in the Boldon Estates team at NHS Property Services, which manages the NHS estate. The work is mainly fire compartmentation remedial jobs and general fabric repairs across the North East, done to safety and compliance standards. It suits a carpenter or joiner keen to build specialist fire compartmentation skills, with regular travel between sites in a company van. A full UK driving licence and an NVQ Level 2 in carpentry and joinery, or equivalent, are required.
