Job summary

A leading facilities management company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative based in Newport. This permanent role involves carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance across multiple locations. Essential requirements include the 18th edition qualification and strong practical skills in electrical and plumbing work. Qualifications

Job Title: Maintenance Operative

Salary: 35k-45k annual base

RGsetsquare recruitment is working with FM Companies who are responsible for managing a mixture of reactive and planned maintenance contracts across UK.

We're seeking a proactive, skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team. You'll be responsible for repairs, and preventative maintenance of our company's buildings at various locations in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general building maintenance- this will include repairs to electrical, plumbing and cladding as needed
• Be able to operate suitable plant e.g. cherry picker and/or scissor lifting safely
• Dealing with external contractors where necessary
• Following safe systems of work in line with CDM Regulations
• Maintaining accurate maintenance logs and records

Essential Requirements

• 18th edition, 2391, AM2
• Strong practical skills in electrical, plumbing, cladding, and general building along with minor joinery skills, would all be useful in this role
• Experience operating cherry pickers and a valid IPAF licence (company may train)
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel
• Based in Newport or within a 45-minute drive radius
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
