Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join the Milverton Lodge site in Formby. The role is bank/zero hours, with responsibilities spanning basic repairs, maintenance, and safety checks to keep the property in good repair.

You will work as part of a team and also individually, performing painting, fittings, and equipment checks. The role requires basic DIY skills, strong empathy for residents, and eligibility to work in the UK. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and interact well with people.
• Works well as an individual and as part of a team.
• Possess general DIY skills/experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide first response to repairs and identify faults or refer to Asset Management or contractor.
• Carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance of the building, fixtures and fittings, and equipment; including painting flats.
• Complete checks on specified equipment and plant regularly.
• Perform routine fire and safety checks in line with policies.
