Job summary

Select Recruitment Specialists Ltd is seeking a practical Maintenance Operative to support multiple Woodbridge-area schools. The role offers real autonomy and variety, covering light plumbing, carpentry, painting and fault finding, with a strong focus on safety and school environments.

You'll travel between sites with a full UK driving licence, and an Enhanced DBS is required with client support through the process. Salary ranges from £30,000 to £33,700, plus a strong benefits package.

Maintenance Operative – Woodbridge Area Schools

As Maintenance Operative, you'll support several schools in the Woodbridge area, giving you the opportunity to use a broad mix of practical skills, from light plumbing and basic carpentry to painting and fault finding. No two days will look the same, and you'll have the chance to build strong relationships with staff and students as a visible, trusted face around each site, making this Maintenance Operative position ideal for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in keeping a school environment safe, functional and welcoming.

This role would suit someone with a practical, hands‑on approach and a genuine willingness to turn their hand to a variety of maintenance tasks. Strong communication skills are important, given the student and staff-facing nature of the role, and candidates should hold a full UK driving licence to travel between sites. An Enhanced DBS is required, though my client is happy to support successful candidates through this process.
