Job description

As a Maintenance Operative, you will undertake PPMs (planned preventative maintenance) and responsive/reactive repairs to ensure the hospital provides quality care to its patients. Your role will be multi-trade, covering repairs such as lamp changes, plumbing, pipework, tap replacements, and washer fittings, along with emergency light testing. Additionally, you will participate in planned upgrade works and refurbishment to maintain smooth hospital operations and create a suitable environment for patients and visitors.

This is a part-time position working 16 hours per week, over 2 days (8am to 5pm). The role includes an on-call rota (1 in 4 weeks), offering opportunities for extra earnings and urgent repair responses.

  • Perform building maintenance and repairs in a healthcare setting.
  • Assist with planned upgrade and refurbishment projects.
  • Participate in on-call emergency repairs.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Proven building maintenance experience.
  • Experience in healthcare or similar environments (leisure centres, schools, supermarkets, etc.).
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a building trade (desirable).
  • Good Health & Safety awareness.
  • Experience with handheld devices (PDA) and good IT skills.
  • Own vehicle and full UK driving license are required.
