The Role:

Are you enthusiastic, passionate, and proactive? GreenBest is seeking a Maintenance Operative with proven experience in maintaining buildings, services, and equipment. In this role, you will ensure our facilities operate smoothly and safely.

The successful candidate must be based within Somerset or within a commutable distance to Henstridge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively identify and address maintenance needs to prevent breakdowns.
• Perform maintenance tasks, including working with compressed air systems, production equipment (automated filling lines, mixing tanks), pipe fitting, racking, basic electrical maintenance, and construction work.
• Liaise with external contractors to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Identify and implement improvements, manage project design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
• Participate in health and safety activities, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Assist with inventory management, ordering spare parts, and sourcing quotes.
• Conduct inspections and maintain maintenance check sheets.

The Person:

• Hold a recognised operational qualification or apprenticeship in maintenance.
• Excellent decision-making skills with a focus on hazard identification and risk management.
• Possess a general safety certificate or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills to foster team engagement.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and support colleagues.
• Awareness of H&S principles, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Highly flexible, adaptable, and committed.
