The Role:

GreenBest is seeking a Maintenance Operative with solid experience and a proven track record in maintaining buildings, services, and equipment. As a Maintenance Operative, you will be essential to our operations, ensuring facilities run smoothly and safely.

The successful candidate must be based within Somerset and/or within a commutable distance to the site in Henstridge.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Preventative Maintenance: Proactively identify and address maintenance needs to prevent breakdowns.
• Maintenance Execution: Perform maintenance tasks including working with compressed air systems, production equipment (automated filling lines, mixing tanks, etc.), pipe fitting, racking, basic electrical maintenance, and construction work.
• Contractor Engagement: Coordinate with external contractors to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Improvement Projects: Identify, design, fabricate, install, and commission improvements.
• Compliance and Safety: Participate in health and safety activities, ensuring standards are met.
• Inventory and Procurement: Manage maintenance stock, order spare parts, and source quotes.
• Equipment Management: Conduct inspections and maintain maintenance check sheets.

The Person:

• Hold a recognised operational qualification or apprenticeship in maintenance.
• Excellent decision-maker, focused on hazard identification and risk management, ensuring safe operations and compliance.
• Possess a general safety certificate or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills to support team and departmental objectives.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and support colleagues.
• Awareness of H&S principles, workforce, and visitor safety & comfort.
• Highly flexible, adaptable, and committed.
