Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking a Maintenance Operative at Holme Hall Quarry to diagnose mechanical defects and carry out breakdown repairs. You will work with the maintenance team to implement preventative strategies and contribute to improving plant reliability and safety.

The role requires hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, with HV equipment handling and a focus on safe, efficient problem solving.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial maintenance role.
• Fixed Plant and Mobile Plant Repairs.
• Proficient in hydraulics, welding, fabrication and mechanics.
• NVQ in Mechanical Maintenance, BTEC equivalent, or higher.
• Full UK driving licence.
• NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health and Safety and/or NEBOSH qualification (advantageous).

• Diagnose mechanical defects and perform breakdown repairs.
• Identify and implement preventative maintenance strategies.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Team Leader to enhance plant reliability and safety.
• Plan and execute plant improvements and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with team members and contractors to support maintenance work.

Position Overview:

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team at Holme Hall Quarry. In this role, you will engage in problem-solving and collaborate with our maintenance team to diagnose and resolve mechanical defects and breakdowns efficiently and safely. Your focus will be on identifying root causes of equipment issues, implementing solutions, and supporting the development and execution of preventative maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and safety of our plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose mechanical defects and perform breakdown repairs.

• Work closely with the Maintenance Team Leader to enhance plant reliability and safety.
• Engage in the planning and execution of plant improvements and maintenance activities.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
