Job summary

Loc8me is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our maintenance team across student and professional properties. You will carry out day-to-day repairs and ensure high standards of workmanship for landlords and tenants.

We value excellent communication, strong organisation and the ability to work independently. A driving licence is required. Hours are 9am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a fully expensed company van, tools and a pension scheme.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repairs across student, professional and social care properties.
• Complete a broad range of general maintenance tasks including joinery, basic plumbing, basic electrical works, painting and decorating within your level of competence.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently, aiming to resolve issues on the first visit wherever reasonably possible.
• Maintain safety and ensure work meets loc8me property standards.

We are looking for a Maintenance Operative to work as part of the maintenance team. The ideal candidate will place a huge emphasis on customer service and be passionate about delivering a first-class experience. As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for dealing with general maintenance on our houses.

Working in a team you will be required to build excellent relationships with Landlords, Tenants, and Contractors. You must be an excellent communicator who is used to maintaining relationships with a diverse range of people and must have a ‘get stuck in attitude’.

Key duties and requirements include:

• Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repairs across student, professional and social care properties
• Complete a broad range of general maintenance tasks including joinery, basic plumbing, basic electrical works, painting and decorating within your level of competence
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently, aiming to resolve issues on the first visit wherever reasonably possible

• Respond to reactive maintenance issues in line with operational priorities and agreed timescales
• Identify additional maintenance issues while attending properties and report these for follow-up where required
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and within your level of competence
• Use tools, equipment and the company vehicle responsibly and in accordance with company procedures
• Maintain a professional, friendly and respectful manner when attending occupied properties

• The ability to manage tasks from start to finish and see projects through to completion
• Experience in general maintenance
