Overview

Fabric Operative – Circle Health Group. Sarum Road Hospital and The Hampshire Clinic Hospital. 37.5 Hours & Permanent. Salary: Competitive Salary (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).

We have an opportunity for a Fabric Operative to join the Engineering team. This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Responsibilities
  • The provision of painting and decorating, and general fabric tasks including basic plumbing and carpentry service to Circle Health Group facilities covering both internal and external aspects of the premises.
  • Complete all fabric tasks including paint and decorating, joinery works and general patient and staff-facing fabric tasks.
  • Provide touch up and fabric refurbishment service on both a reactive and rolling programme basis.
  • The completion of basic plumbing duties, including TMV maintenance, unblocking toilets, changing washers, etc.
  • Provide competent advice on the redecoration and fabric repair requirements throughout the facilities.
  • Provide support to sites across clusters when required for holiday, sickness, vacancies, and general support provision.
  • Ensure redecoration is in line with Circle Health Group property lease obligations.
  • Exterior redecorations every 5 years and interior redecorations every 7 years to decorate non-clinical areas.
  • redecorate the internal clinical areas of the premises when major equipment is replaced; in any case this redecoration must be done at least once every ten years.
  • Comply with all relevant mandatory training.
Qualifications
  • Current Construction Safety Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card at appropriate level of qualification.
  • Trained on high working, including Pasma/Ladder use.
  • Ability to hang all types and styles of wall coverings (e.g., wide width, fabric and paper backed).
  • Ability to work under own initiative in a methodical process as required.
  • Alternatively, part qualifications in Engineering training programme or part completed apprenticeship with specialization in Painting/Decorating and/or Carpentry.
  • Previous experience in working alongside Contractors and others.
  • Working understanding of the COSHH regulations.
  • Basic understanding of Health and Safety guidelines and applicable law.
