Job summary

Avery Park Care Home in Kettering is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Maintenance Operative to maintain the building and grounds, carrying out routine maintenance tasks and basic repairs to keep facilities fully functional. You will support residents with room setup, oversee routine redecoration, and manage supplies with timely ordering.

• Ensure routine redecorations are done to maintain standards.
• Advise on supplies and order replacements in a timely manner.
• Provide out-of-hours emergency service and participate in on-call rota.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Maintenance Operativewillbetoensurethe building and grounds are wellmaintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systemswhilstensuringfacilities are fully functional.

• Carryingout all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs includingall electrical, plumbing joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home.
• Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
• Ensuringroutine re-decoration is undertaken asrequiredtomaintainthe standards in thehome.
• Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
• Providingout of hours emergency service,participatingin the on-call rota.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in your application, you will live our values of caring,supportive,honest, respectful, and accountable in all that you do.

• Have a minimum of one years experience in a general maintenance or handy person role and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade.
• Hold a full driving licence.
• Have knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
