This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong plumbing and general maintenance experience who enjoys solving problems, delivering excellent customer service, and making a tangible difference every day.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse portfolio of NHS properties. Working as part of a dedicated Estates team, you will undertake a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure our buildings remain safe, compliant, operational, and fit for purpose.

This is a varied hands-on role where you will use your plumbing expertise alongside broader maintenance skills to diagnose faults, complete repairs, and maintain the high standards expected across our healthcare estate. You'll work closely with colleagues, contractors, and customers to ensure an excellent service is delivered at all times.

Who You Are

You are a practical and adaptable maintenance professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. You enjoy working independently, managing your own workload and finding effective solutions to maintenance issues while maintaining a strong focus on customer service and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities across a range of NHS properties.
  • Undertaking plumbing repairs including taps, toilets, drainage issues, leaks, and pipework maintenance.
  • Completing minor repairs across multiple trades including carpentry, painting and decorating, basic electrical works, and general fabric maintenance.
  • Identifying faults and carrying out repairs efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
  • Conducting routine building inspections and reporting defects or health and safety concerns.
  • Maintaining accurate records of completed work using company systems.
  • Participating in the on-call rota where required.
  • Building effective working relationships with customers and colleagues while delivering excellent customer service in occupied healthcare environments.
  • Supporting compliance and ensuring all work is carried out in line with company policies and health and safety requirements.
