Job Description

Position: Maintenance Operative

Location: Basildon

Salary: Competitive DOE

Working Hours: Monday-Friday - 37.5 hours per week.

The company: Based in South Essex, you will be joining a well-known manufacturing company which is going through a large period of growth. Due to large expansion, the company is now looking for an experienced Facilities/Maintenance Operative/Engineer to join the team. Essential duties and responsibilities:
  1. Maintain clean, tidy, and organised areas to facilitate efficient task completion.
  2. Support stock management by conducting regular inventory checks to ensure adequate supplies are always available.
  3. Responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on property fixtures and fittings and general grounds maintenance.
  4. Conduct general plumbing, lighting, painting, and decorating work.
  5. Supervise external maintenance contractors when they are on-site.
  6. Ensure all on-site tools and equipment are kept in good, safe working order and stored away when finished with.
  7. Undertake any ad-hoc tasks deemed necessary by the Management.

This is just a summed-up list of responsibilities and other duties will be required.

Skills and Experience required:
  1. Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  2. Ability to manage your own day and tasks throughout.
  3. Ability to use a range of hand tools and equipment.
  4. Able to work with company compliance and health and safety procedures.
  5. Attention to detail.
