Job summary

Queens View Harbour Care Home in Troon is seeking a Maintenance Officer to keep the building safe, well maintained and fully operational. This hands-on role requires practical skills and a proactive approach to support residents and staff.

The role covers repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep across the home; you will work with the Home Manager, plan maintenance, ensure safety standards and coordinate contractors to maintain a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Good knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A proactive and practical approach.
• Reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action.
• Work with the Home Manager and wider team to support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination.
