Responsibilities
- Carry out day to day maintenance and improvement on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds to ensure the Home is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order.
- Report and action any known defects to appliances, damaged furniture/equipment and any other potential hazards to the Property Manager, who will advise accordingly.
- Ensure the maintenance of the Home’s interior and exterior, including keeping sheds, outbuildings and waste areas clean and tidy.
- Clear snow and grit drive, paths and areas accessible to Residents, Visitors or Staff.
- Maintain grounds: cut grass, tend flowerbeds and hanging baskets where applicable.
- Clean all signs and lighting outside the Home.
- Perform basic plumbing and electrical maintenance.
- Clear and clean general areas and assist with furniture assembly.
- Carry out any decoration in all areas as required to maintain the Home’s standards.
- Test the fire alarm system and log results weekly; check call points, fire exits, door retaining devices and fire emergency lights as per Company procedures.
- Ensure ventilation units and lights are kept clean; replace defective bulbs/diffusers as needed.
- Test all portable appliances as specified in Company procedures.
- Test and record water temperatures as required for Legionella control.
- Maintain a Maintenance Book with recorded defects and use it to effect repairs/replacements daily.
- Assist/supervise deliveries to the Home and monitor delivered goods closely.
- Create and maintain an inventory of all furniture, fittings and equipment; log in/out incoming/disposals.
- Carry out any other tasks reasonably assigned to you.
