About the Role:
A respected public sector organisation is seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Officer to join their Estates and Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the effective upkeep and operation of a diverse property portfolio, supporting essential community services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections and coordinate reactive and planned maintenance activities across various sites

  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of works

  • Maintain accurate records, work logs, and compliance documentation

  • Ensure adherence to health & safety standards and statutory regulations

  • Assist in project delivery, including refurbishment and minor works

About You:
You will have a solid background in building maintenance or facilities management, ideally within a public sector or institutional setting. A practical understanding of building systems (e.g. electrical, plumbing, HVAC), along with strong organisational skills, is essential.

Requirements:

  • Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of building compliance, health & safety, and maintenance best practices

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

  • IT literacy and experience using maintenance management systems (e.g. CAFM)

  • Full UK driving licence (desirable, depending on site coverage)
