A leading company in food processing is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to ensure optimal performance of machinery. This role involves routine inspections, repairs, and collaboration with a team during peak production seasons. Comprehensive benefits are provided, including healthcare and life insurance.
Job Description
Pay Range: $23 - $30 per hour, based on experience
Shift/Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6 days per week during the production season ("pack") from mid/late June to mid/late November. Shifts alternate midway through the season to balance day and night hours for all mechanics. During the off-season, shifts transition to either 5 days at 8 hours per day or 4 days at 10 hours per day.
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing food processing equipment to ensure optimal performance during production. This role includes conducting equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and performing essential repairs to meet production goals. During non-production periods, the mechanic assists with equipment overhaul and installation in preparation for the next production cycle.
Located in Ripon, WI, our facility includes four large warehouses, extensive labeling, shipping, and receiving operations, and an active production area where we process canned green beans (initial season) and carrots (beginning around October). Some outdoor production areas exist, though the primary production floor includes stations for snipping, cutting, blanching, and cooking.
