Job description

Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Worcester, MA

Hours:

• Fulltime
• First Shift 7:00am – 3:30pm

Position Duties:

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of heavy industrial processing machinery.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Preventative Maintenance Procedures (PMPs) in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager.
• Ensures compliance with all policies through effective communication and integration in all operations.
• Coordinates work performance according to specifications and work plans.
• Performs work safely and efficiently, in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.

Position Requirements:

• Mechanical skills: ability to rebuild pumps, cylinders, valves, and blowers.
• Electrical skills: experience with relays, motors, motor starters, fuses, drives, and control wiring.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of PLCs and their role in industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of VFDs and motor controllers.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment, cranes, forklifts, and hand trucks.
• Experience in metal forming, CNC machining, heat treating, and light automation.
• Knowledge of building systems, air compressors, electrical distribution, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Understanding of ISO compliance and certification procedures.
• Ability to fabricate and operate tools such as brakes, shears, welders, and grinders.

Pay Rate:

$30-34/Hour – Depending on Experience

Note: The listed pay rate is on an hourly basis. Eligibility for health insurance requires employment for 60 days and an average of 30 hours per week. Benefits commence after completing the enrollment process.
