Job Summary

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Worker I is responsible for preforming basic machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance services. In addition, maintains production and facility equipment according to safety requirements and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievements of the sites business goals and objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs plant facilities and machinery. Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and machinery repair manuals
• Moves, installs, wires, runs conduit and piping, and sets-up machinery. Assists others to install new and used machinery and to construct new projects
• Troubleshoots various mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing problems, repairs as necessary, and maintains log of all repairs performed
• Fits bearings, seals, and other components
• Makes precise adjustments and alignments on equipment
• Selects and uses various precision measuring instruments, testing equipment, and inspection devices
• Performs preventive and routine maintenance to assure machine performance
• Delivers and picks up items when necessary for the maintenance department
• Orders necessary parts and service for plant machinery repair and performs required testing for plant systems in the absence of the maintenance lead person
• Performs daily housekeeping tasks to provide a safe, clean, and orderly workplace
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• High school or vocational school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 3+ years of experience in schematics, electrical/electronic concepts and maintenance experience on machine tools
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery in a manufacturing/ industrial environment ( e.g. CNC Machines, Grinding Tools, Blasting Equipment, and other various manufacturing equipment)

Preferred Qualifications:
• GKN Experience
• Experience working with manufacturing machinery and fabrication techniques
• Experience with Welding

Physical Requirements:
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, climb, reach at or above shoulder level, and kneel
• Occasionally must squat, balance, work at heights, and push or pull wheeled items weighing 350 pounds and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 60 pounds independently or up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Repetitive actions include simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation and lifting
• Regular exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, and marked changes in temperature and humidity

Compensation Range

The compensation range is between $25.00 - $35.00 per hour.
