Maintenance Mechanic – Industrial Sewing Equipment

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Mechanic to support our Fabric manufacturing operations in Haverhill, MA. This position is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and optimization of specialized production equipment, with a particular focus on industrial rotary hook sewing machines, 3D printing systems, injection molding, cutting systems, and related manufacturing technologies. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring reliable, safe, and efficient operations in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial rotary hook sewing machines and other stitching equipment.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair 3D printers and related additive manufacturing equipment.
- Support maintenance of additional production machinery including cutting systems and injection molding equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize machine performance and process efficiency.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist in equipment installation, calibration, and start-up of new machinery.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide general facility support, including conveyors, compressed air systems, and utilities.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or Equipment Technician in a manufacturing environment (fabric, textiles, or related industries).
- Strong technical expertise in industrial sewing machine repair and adjustment, with specific knowledge of rotary hook mechanisms.
- Practical experience with 3D printing technology (FDM, SLA, or SLS), including calibration and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of injection molding and cutting equipment.
- Ability to interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and moving equipment.
- Standing, bending, and working with tools for extended periods of time.
