A recruitment agency is seeking a full-time Maintenance Mechanic in Middlesbrough. You'll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a variety of equipment including HGVs. Overview

Our client is a leading provider of solutions across multiple sectors including infrastructure, energy, renewables, and nuclear power. We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Mechanic to join the maintenance team, working on a wide variety of equipment such as cranes, trucks, trailers, and plant machinery.

The Role

You will carry out maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse fleet, ensuring all equipment is safe, compliant, and operating to the highest standards. Duties will also include preparing HGVs for MOT, conducting inspections, and delivering quality work across all equipment types.

About You
  • Previous experience with HGVs or plant equipment

  • Strong knowledge of modern diesel engines, hydraulics, air systems, electrics, and diagnostics

  • Familiar with roadworthiness standards, including safety inspections and MOT preparation

  • Experience in maintenance operations, driver and control systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics

  • Basic rigging knowledge is desirable

  • Previous experience in sectors such as civil engineering, construction, renewables, oil & gas, offshore, ports, or mining is beneficial
