Job Description

The responsibilities include carrying out general maintenance tasks and performing as a maintenance and construction technician on in-house and outside construction projects, as directed, in the best interests of VOADV Property.

SCOPE OF DUTIES:

• Perform maintenance inspections, repair work, and construction project tasks as needed.
• Keep accurate records of work completed, including time and materials, and work independently.
• Report all unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions immediately to the Construction & Maintenance Director.
• Attend and participate in job meetings and training sessions as required.
• Pick up and deliver necessary materials and supplies as needed or requested by the Construction and Maintenance Foreman.
• Maintain accurate records of petty cash accounts.
• Care for and ensure the safe keeping of all department tools and equipment.
• Be available for on-call emergency service as assigned.
• Perform as crew leader when necessary and as assigned by the director or supervisor.
• Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with administrative policies and procedures.
• Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and training sessions.

ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to climb stairs and work from ladders while using or carrying tools.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds multiple times during an 8-hour period.
• Ability to see clearly all types of plans, gauges, rulers, and to drive a light truck.
• Ability to operate power and non-power hand tools.
