Job description

A large manufacturing company is seeking a skilled mechanic to join our team. This role involves a variety of mechanical duties, ranging from small to large scale, depending on operational needs. You will be responsible for safely performing maintenance and repair operations to keep plant equipment, machinery, and tools in optimal condition.

The ideal candidate must be proficient in repairing heat-treating furnaces and manufacturing equipment. Ability to read blueprints, drawings, or take measurements for planning repairs is a plus. The candidate should be capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team. Adaptability and quick learning to repair mechanical failures under different circumstances are essential.

Responsibilities include:
  • Operating various shop equipment (drill press, grinder, belt sander)
  • Diagnosing and repairing industrial machinery including pumps, conveyors, furnaces, and ovens
  • Understanding lubrication systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Prioritizing repairs effectively
  • Maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and upgrading equipment
  • Performing preventative maintenance and recording results
  • Sourcing replacement parts from inventory as needed
  • Rigging or millwright experience is a plus
