Job DescriptionPosition OverviewThe Plant Maintenance Manager is responsible for coordinating, planning, scheduling, and executing all maintenance and repair work at our Columbus Quarry location in Fortson, GA.
Roles and Responsibilities(Essential Duties and Functions)
- Promote safety continuously and lead by example.
- Strategic Planning - ensure the plant achieves maximum results while reducing costs and improving safety. Develop forward-looking maintenance plans, both predictive and preventive, that are clearly communicated.
- Mechanical Knowledge - possess working knowledge of plant equipment, parts, sourcing, repair, and maintenance.
- Information Management - ability to disseminate information from multiple sources to build and execute maintenance plans.
- Responsible for 2nd Shift Production and will work a split shift.
- Cost Control - collaborate with the Purchasing team to budget, track, and execute plans based on financial constraints. Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs and improve STVC.
- Ensure all parts are readily available when needed.
- Meet daily with the Plant Manager to review work order requests, downtime issues, and upcoming work.
- Communicate with Leadmen to review completed work, upcoming tasks, and issues during shifts.
- Schedule maintenance associates and resources effectively to meet site requirements.
- Administer and follow up on preventative maintenance activities.
- Review oil sampling results.
- Analyze budget data for MTD and YTD to identify trends and generate improvement opportunities.
- Maintain regular and timely attendance.
- Perform other duties as required.

Experience and SkillsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/ExperienceRequired:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in plant maintenance and repair.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
- 10 years of experience preferred.
Work Requirements:
- Ability to have a flexible schedule and work various hours based on operational needs.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
- Technical and mechanical knowledge of all plant components and repair tasks.
- Effective communication skills and ability to understand and assimilate information.
- Understanding of production goals (KPIs) and site strategies.
- Self-starter capable of operating under general guidelines.
- Ability to perform under deadline pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to collaborate with management and peers.
- Willingness to work a fluid schedule with periodic face time on all shifts and around-the-clock phone availability.
