Location: Maplewood Court, Northumberland Rd, Maidstone ME15 7TA
Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay: £36,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Shift: Days
What you need to succeed:
- Experience as a multi-skilled all-rounder with general maintenance knowledge, including minor electrical, plumbing, joinery, and painting work.
- Knowledge of CQC requirements regarding H&S.
- Understanding of current Health and Safety, EHO regulations, COSHH, and Fire Regulations.
- A clean driving license.
- Understanding of central heating systems and hot and cold-water systems.
- Professionalism and ability to maintain high confidentiality.
- Self-motivated and flexible.
- Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
- Ability to manage a small team.
What you will be doing:
- Ensure all maintenance services meet the service specifications.
- Manage contractor projects in line with company procedures.
- Maintain the Home’s internal environment through basic repairs and redecoration.
- Maintain the external environment, including outbuildings and gardens.
- Test all required equipment and keep a log of work carried out.
- Orient new and existing staff to the building and Fire Safety procedures.
- Regularly test fire alarm systems and support fire evacuation drills.
- Manage the safe storage of maintenance equipment and products.
- Test, monitor, and record temperatures of domestic hot and cold water, and perform legionella checks as required.
- Check and record all portable electrical appliances brought into the Care Home by residents.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained according to guidelines.
